Frequently Asked Questions
Are ongoing works allowed?Yes, as long as your first chapter is complete by the due date and exceeds the 2,000 word minimum, you may submit ongoing works.
Can I submit something I've already posted? No. The work you submit to this fest must not have been posted anywhere else and should be created specifically for the fest. If you have a fic or art piece that fits the fest's theme and is a work in progress that has not yet been posted anywhere, you can continue to work on that piece and use it for the fest.
Is Dead Dove/darker content allowed?Yes, it is! As long as you carefully tag your fic accordingly and give people proper warning. Some restrictions still apply and can be found under General Rules.
What is an enigma?Since enigma Jungkook is also accepted here, it's important to let everyone who might not know what an enigma is!Using the info from this omegaverse guide, enigmas are defined as "the rarest type of gender a person can present as. An Enigma is the Alpha of Alphas and is believed to be a myth because of their rarity. They are extremely dangerous and can either lead a society to flourish or to damnation."You can visit the link to read more about them if you would like!
Why make a fest about an already popular trope/concept?Fests are not solely created to bring more content to a less-written trope. While it can be used that way and that's an excellent use of fests, there is no rule to say they only exist for that reason. There are plenty of people who enjoy this trope who also want a space to find more of what they like and get a chance to share prompts and ideas that they may not have time to write for themselves. They get a chance to have their story written by another writer. Fests also give the writers a chance to embrace a challenge by taking on a prompt they otherwise might not have thought of/had a chance to write. It also provides a platform for writers who have just started out and may not have built themselves a community yet. There are so many reasons why fests should not be limited to only certain tropes and this is just scratching the surface, but hopefully it helps some people to have a more positive outlook on it.
Why was I/someone I know blocked by this fest account? The safety of involved creators is the primary concern for any fest. If you are blocked, it's because you are known to have demonstrated past behaviors of harassment of other creators and/or condoned the harassment of creators. This can include blatant/public bullying, spreading private information, speaking poorly of them, spreading lies or inciting hate, or making hateful or threatening comments on other platforms as well.Mods have a right to protect their own mental health as well while they work to make their fests accessible to the community at large.
Why are there no options for asking anon questions?Anonymous questions are a breeding ground for harassment, negativity, and hatred, and this fest will be breaking that cycle and will not tolerate it.While it's understandable that some people are shy or embarrassed to ask questions, too many people use the privilege of anonymity to abuse others. If what you have to say requires anonymity, it's probably unkind. The mod for this fest also chose not to be anonymous to keep things fair, balanced, and transparent. You can message the fest if you have questions, and if it's a question that others may also have, the mod will make a public post to inform others (while leaving out the name of the person who originally asked in private, of course.)
